Generalized geometry, Noncommutativity and Dirac-Born-Infeld action
Noncommutative gauge theories are explained from the point of view of generalized geometry. Within this framework, the open-closed relations between the background fields, the Seiberg-Witten map and the commutative-noncommutative duality are naturally introduced. DBI action (and its higher versions) are interpreted as a consequence of the requirement of equivalences between the commutative and noncommutative descriptions of of D-branes (p-branes).
