Special Lecture from the Nobel Laureate Prof. Hiroshi Amano

The Nobel Laureate Prof. Hiroshi Amano will give a Special Lecture on December 26 at the Sendai Civic Auditorium.

The Nobel Prize in Physics for 2014 was awarded to three Japanese scientists: Prof. Isamu Akasaki from Meijo University, Prof. Hiroshi Amano from Nagoya University, and Prof. Shuji Nakamura from the University of California.

The Award Ceremony for the Nobel Prize will be held on December 10 in Stockholm, Sweden. Shortly after being presented with this prize, one of the Nobel Laureates, Prof. Hiroshi Amano, will visit Sendai to give a special lecture about his Nobel Prize winning work “for the invention of efficient blue light-emitting diodes which has enabled bright and energy-saving white light sources”.

*The lecture will be given in Japanese.
