Course Objectives and Summary / Learning Goals
This course aims to develop human resources with a broad overview of the semiconductor industry.
Semiconductors are a fundamental technology in almost all modern industries and include a wide range of technical elements. Furthermore, the market surrounding semiconductors is diverse and undergoes rapid change.
In this course, students will learn basic technologies along the technology value chain, from basic principles to materials, design, manufacturing equipment, manufacturing processes, evaluation and analysis, as well as the structure and trends of the semiconductor market, with the aim of developing human resources who can thrive not only in semiconductor manufacturers but in all markets surrounding semiconductors.
–To gain a general understanding of the role and importance of each component in the semiconductor technology value chain, as well as the underlying technologies.
–To gain a broader understanding about the relationship and fusion between your own field of expertise and related fields.
Course Description
This course will include 13 lectures, 1 practical session, and the 15th session being a factory tour of a semiconductor manufacturing equipment manufacturer (either February 3rd or 5th, 2026).
