Professor Yoshinori Ohsumi, the 2016 Nobel Prize laureate in Physiology or Medicine, gives special lecture. Professor Ohsumi, who has made significant contributions to life sciences, will reflect on his half–century career as a researcher and discuss the importance of pursuing what you want to do and believing in what you find interesting. Through his research on autophagy reaching the fundamental mechanisms of life phenomena, Professor Ohsumi will discuss the significance of basic science, the appeal of intellectual exploration, and his message to young researchers and students who will shape the future.
