Research DX Support Center

Core Research Cluster for Materials Science FY2023 1st Seminar × 5th Research DX Strategy Seminar

Information

While the accumulation and utilization of research data has become a domestic and international trend, a great swell is sweeping through the field of materials science in response to the government's “Materials Innovation Strategy,” and Tohoku University is expected to participate in the promotion of “Research DX” in various ways as one of the major centers.

In this seminar, we invite Mr. Masahiko Demura, who leads the Materials Data Platform at the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS), the core institute of the government strategy. He will give an overview of MEXT projects such as the Advanced Research Infrastructure for Materials (ARIM) project, which incorporates common equipment into the data distribution infrastructure, and the Data Creation and Application–oriented Materials R&D Project (DxMT), which is working on its demonstration and problem solving. We will see an overview of these MEXT project, its specific activities, and how it relates to the future of researchers and URA staff.

Although the focus is on the field of materials science, we hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to get a glimpse of how research styles are going to change in the near future, and what advantages you can find there.

This seminar is jointly organized by the Tohoku Forum for Creativity and the Core Research Cluster for Materials Science.

*This seminar will be given in Japanese.
