「School of Designing of Future Society」 Special Lectures
—Towards the Realization of a Well–being Society—
Information
As the state of society and the work–life balance of individuals are under review, “wellbeing” is attracting attention as a central concept for the coming era. The origin of “wellbeing” can be traced back to the World Health Organization (WHO) Charter of 1946. According to the charter, health is defined as “a state of complete physical, mental, and social well–being. It means to be healthy not only physically, but also mentally and socially. In Japan, the world's longest–living society with a super–aging population, it is a major challenge to create a place where all people, regardless of age, can play an active role and a society where people can live with peace of mind.
This special lecture will be given by Professor Takashi Maeno, Keio University and Dean of the Faculty of Well–Being at Musashino University, who advocates “Happiness Studies” and is Japan's leading expert in wellbeing research and education, and Associate Professor Chihiro Hosoda, Institute of Medical Aging, Tohoku University, who has been conducting brain science x cutting–edge technology and wellbeing research. They will talk about the future of work and life.
