Design Lab for our Future Co–existence

Future Society Design School Special Lecture: Regional Revitalization Through Community Development — Co–Creating the Future of Local Communities —

Information

This special lecture will bring together practical insights on community development and regional revitalization from the perspectives of academia, local government, and the private sector.
As population decline and demographic aging continue to affect communities across Japan, creating sustainable local communities requires collaboration among a wide range of stakeholders. In addition to government-led initiatives, companies, universities, local organizations, and people from outside the region are increasingly expected to contribute their knowledge, experience, and networks to community development. Through lectures presenting practical initiatives and a panel discussion bringing together speakers from different backgrounds, this event will examine current challenges facing local communities and explore new approaches to sustainable community development. The discussion will also consider how younger generations and people from outside the region can become actively involved in shaping the future of local communities. The event will also introduce the activities and outcomes of the Future Society Design School and provide an opportunity to consider future collaboration among academia, industry, government, and local communities.
※This event will be conducted in Japanese.
