2020TEL_large

Program Theme

While the innovations driven by IoT and AI are expected to greatly contribute to our society, IoT and AI may have unexpected negative effects, depending on how they are developed and implemented in society. The “human-centric IoT society” is realized as a social system where human beings and computers harmonize each other. The aim of this thematic program is to discuss issues of future human-centric IoT society for well-being through industry-academic collaborations.
A salient feature of this program is the introduction of the technology assessment method including cross-cutting discussions, which comprehensively cover liberal arts, technology and science.
The program will create a knowledge base for IoT society development, which naturally fits to the goals of sustainable society. In addition, methodologies for designing IoT society, and those for practicing its optimal implementation will be provided. We hope to propose judgment criteria for the human-centric IoT society design from both technology and social science points of view.
