TFC×TEL Collaboration Symposium on Designing a Digital and Sustainable Society
Information
This symposium is organized in collaboration with the Tohoku University Centre for Knowledge Creation and Tokyo Electron, as a forum for considering sustainable development and social contribution in a future society. The symposium will explore how to realize new social design in discussions on how rapidly evolving digital technologies can contribute to solving social issues and how to consider new social values for a sustainable society.
Experts will share their views on how companies and individuals can contribute to a sustainable society through methods such as handprint and lifecycle assessment, and on the impact and potential of developments in digital technologies such as AI and data science on a sustainable society. Presentations will be made on the results of the Designing the Future Society School, a joint initiative of Tokyo Electron and the Knowledge Creation Centre, as well as on the results of the research visits to companies and other organizations involved in regional development, with a focus on the potential of the young power that will lead the next generation.
Based on the discussions in each session, the participants will comprehensively consider how technology and social contribution should be in the future society in the designated discussions, with the aim of designing a sustainable future.
