Thematic Programs

G–RIPS Sendai 2025 FUJITSU Project “Discoverability with Modern AI”

Information

The G–RIPS Sendai program has been held at Tohoku University since 2018. G–RIPS Sendai is an international internship program where participants from the U.S. and Japan work intensively in groups on mathematical problems provided by partner companies and learn how to reach solutions. The projects will be of serious interest to the sponsor and will offer a stimulating challenge to students; most will involve both analytic and computational work. At the end of the program, the teams will present the results of their work and prepare a final report. The RIPS/G–RIPS (Graduate–level Research in Industrial Projects for Students) program has been conducted by IPAM (Institute for Pure & Applied Mathematics) at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) for more than 20 years. In recent years, the program has been held in Hong Kong, Germany, and other countries, including ours, receiving high evaluations from both participating students and companies.
This year one of the projects provided by FUJITSU titled “Discoverability with Modern AI” in G–RIPS Sendai 2025 is carried out as an event of the Thema Program “Uncovering Causality in Our Complex World”.
