Sustainable Structural Integrity for Energy Infrastructure
Program Theme
Life cycle management (design, manufacturing, and maintenance) of metallic structural components in plants and various infrastructures must be rationalized to ensure safe and economic facilities. For this purpose, it is essential to develop advanced models of corrosion and other factors and to ensure reliability through inspection. We will discuss academic foundations that enable life cycle management methods for infrastructure based on scientific rationality by integrating research on deterioration and damage mechanisms with nondestructive inspection and monitoring research from the viewpoints of data science and risk assessment.
